Mumorandums from a working mum
We’ve become aware of some the phrases we use and the way our girls translate them, literally. It can be quite funny, yet challenging trying explain what we mean.
This was the song that greet me today.
Bleary-eyed parents don’t need anyone to tell them they’re suffering from sleep deprivation. It’s not easy to walk around like a zombie, and maintain a certain appearance to yourself, and not to mention enthusiasm. Let’s face it, we’re tired!
A simple question really. And at this point you’re probably asking why I’m giving you a spelling test.
Anyone can be a parent, but it takes a lot of work to be a mum and / or dad.
We adults may spell it – L O V E, but kids spell LOVE their own way:

Am I a ‘great’ mum, probably not (aren’t we always hardest on ourselves). I am learning as I go along, but there are some instances where I do literally muddle through. However, by the time I’m a grandparent I’m sure I’ll absolutely fab at being a grandparent.

I’ve been reading ‘Who’s the mummy?’ blog about Mummy Lingo Bingo, a brand new game where we identify how many of these random words we only use around our children. The article inspired me to come up with my own phrases…
Three of my family / friends have had babies in the last month (Congratulations to Helen, Maz and Sarah). Unsurprisingly there’s been more than one comment about the lack of sleep that comes with a new baby.
