Mumorandums from a working mum
Welcome one and all. It’s Mummy Bloggers Carnival time and I’m indulging in holiday planning, so this carnival is all about holidays, days out and fab times. So grab a cuppa and a biscuit, those chocolate digestives are mine so hands off, and sit back and read. It’s better than the telly!
I’m going to start with my post, although it’s a bit of a cheat as my 5 year old daughter wrote it, well sort of… This one is ‘a day in the life of Ami‘ one day on holiday last year.
Next up is Victoria at It’s a Small World After All with a post about swimming in Australia. Also on the travel theme is Janine at 21st Century Mummy with top tips for stress-free flying with babies and young children.
One of the downsides of being a working mum is having to work through the holidays. Fiona’s post over at Sleepless in Suburbia is all about trying to compensate for working throughout half term with a blow out weekend at the end of it to try to fool the children into thinking they weren’t at school holiday club for the duration.
Meanwhile, Magic Mummy has been busy making collages of her favourite holiday photos (a brill idea), check out the collages over at Frugal Family, Emma at Mommy Has a Headache is also sharing her holiday photos of Buenos Aires.
Liz from Living With Kids has discovered an Aloha high while Sandy at Baby Baby has a post all about the differences between a day of retail therapy (?) before and after baby. Also well worth a read is Susie’s post over at New Day New Lesson which is all about those family traditions that become the glue that holds us together.
Here are some others that were submitted but didn’t quite go with my theme, yet it didn’t seem fair to leave them out.
Rachel at Keep Moving USA tells us about a lesson learned. Maggie at Red Ted Art talks about 2 year olds and party foods. Also talking about parties is Natasha at Amelie’s House while A Modern Mother recounts a conversation with her Polish cleaner. I’ve learnt about ‘Smizing’ from Laura at Are We Nearly There Yet Mummy which is definately worth a read and Alli writes about something a lot more personal than business at Motivating Mum. You should also pop over to Potential Mummy B at My Baby Adventure to read her open letter to her boiler.
Finally, Kelly has written this really beautiful post over at A Place of My Own which is all about the different people living under her skin.
Don’t forget if you want to check out the Mummy Bloggers Carnival schedule pop on over to A Modern Mother for full details.
I hope you enjoy the carnival!
My name is Kassia Gardner and I’m a self-employed, working mum making a living from bright angels. I became a parent for the first time in 2004, and again in 2007, exactly three years to the day after the first. These are my thoughts about being a working mum and family life. I hope you find this is the kind of read that makes you smile.

Hi everyone, I’m glad we’re talking about holidays – it feels like the winter is on it’s way out. We’re off to a place called Jolly Days for my husbands birthday soon – camping with chandeliers, candle-sticks and four-posters – I can’t wait and nor can the girls. And just a sniff of Spring makes it feel all the more bearable – still got the hot water bottle to hand mind!
